At Davies & Foster, we make all our own furniture from start to finish, at our workshop in Backford, Chester. We are a small team of furniture and cabinet makers, who enjoy what we do and have a real passion for woodwork.

At Davies & Foster, you can either purchase individual pieces of furniture from our shop, or commission us to make and install either a piece of fitted or freestanding furniture for your home.

We provide fully written, detailed quotations with all commisioned work. All our quotations give a full breakdown of the work, whats included, copies of our terms and conditions, pictures and suggestions. You can also pick options should you wish. Once you are happy with your quotation and wish to proceed, you can then digitally sign to accept.

We supply a full set of drawings for all commissioned pieces of work. These drawings will need to be signed off and approved by yourself before we start making. This ensures you know exactly what you are getting and are paying for, and we know exactly what we are making. You can make as many revisions to these drawings ensuring you are 100% happy before we start making.

At Davies & Foster, we put a lot of time and thought into our designs. This involves a great deal of interaction between the customer and ourselves to perfect the design. Therefore, we do not offer free designs before a commission has been accepted.

Our online shop accepts debit and credit cards via our Paypal payment system. We also accept card payments over the phone, and when we have installed your project, we accept the final payment (20%) via our mobile terminal.

Yes you can. Please choose the 'pick-up' option when ordering, and we'll let you know when your item is ready to be collected.

We will. All our fitted furniture is installed by Davies & Foster, and the fitting side is fully detailed in your quotation. In order to maintain our high standards, we keep everything in house. As a small team, it is often the same person who has made it, will also finish it (including spray finish) and help to install it.

Davies and Foster have a full paint set up allowing projects to be spray finished in a combination of AC durable paint and AC clear lacquer, for a hard, reliable and brushstroke free appearance. The final colour choice for all painted surfaces will be confirmed in the design process. We can match any popular brand of colour or tone including Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Dulux, Graham and Brown and many more.

To an extent. The beauty of oak lies within its colour variations and grain patterns, and as it is a natural product, great variations can occur between trees and regions of where that particular tree has been felled. Age and finish is also a major factor. If you are concerned over colour, we encourage you to come down to our workshop where we can go through samples and discuss the finishes we offer.

Yes we do. In fact, Billy started with us on an apprenticeship in Bench Joinery, and is now with us full time, after successfully completing his course and training with us. We look for apprentices who take the initiative to get in touch with us and have a genuine interest in both furniture, design and most of all, woodwork.
